The Daily Pool

The Daily Pool is a community micro-finance feature in Squirrelll.ing where every member of a region contributes one fixed, insignificant amount each day (roughly $0.20–$1), and one member of that region receives the entire pool that day, minus a 12% platform fee.

How it works, step by step

  1. You contribute a little: a fixed, insignificant daily amount set by your region's currency.
  2. Everyone else does too: thousands of small acts stack into one meaningful pool for your region.
  3. One person receives it: each day one member from your region receives the entire pool minus the 12% platform fee.
  4. The days it isn't yours: you gave someone their day, and tomorrow the wheel turns again.

A worked example

10,000 people in a region each contribute $0.50 a day. The daily pool is $5,000 and one person receives roughly $4,400 that day. Everyone else gave 50 cents and helped a neighbour.

Why this isn't a lottery

A lottery sells you a chance and most people lose. Here nobody loses: every contribution helps a real person today, the amount never changes, and there is no jackpot to chase.

Why this isn't charity

Charity flows one way. The Daily Pool flows in every direction — you give, you receive, you give again. It is mutual, quiet and structural.

Frequently asked questions

What if I never receive a pool? Statistically your day comes, and on the days it isn't you, you helped someone. There is no losing day.

How is the recipient chosen? Fairly and transparently within your region — each active member has an equal chance each day.

What is the 12% fee for? It keeps the platform running: payments, compliance, engineering and support.
